Scorched Timber is a coffee table that puts a unique spin on a typical river table concept. The pine slabs used have been treated with a deep char finish to reveal the unique ‘dragon scale’ effect of burnt wood. A translucent tinted-resin flows through the center of the tabletop and provides a lovely, smokey, contrast to the dark wood. This table truly comes alive as the light hits it. The charred finish can appear almost metallic at certain angles. The entire tabletop was then encased in epoxy resin and brought to a high-gloss finish, to ensure the wood within stays protected, as well as displays it beautifully.
